Bofill Mir strengthens leadership in Public and Regulatory Law and Introduces a Criminal Law practice

  • This marks a step in the firm’s strategic growth, adding two new partners, Tomás Blake y Daniel Martorell, to reinforce key capabilities in areas of high legal sensitivity and increasing complexity. With these additions, Bofill Mir now has a total of 12 partners.

The incorporation of Tomás Blake as partner in the Public and Regulatory Law, together with current partner, Andrea Abascal, reinforces a leadership structure designed to consistently drive a key practice in the country’s regulatory agenda.

“The interaction between the State, companies, and communities is a complex but inherent balance in development, requiring a strategic vision that anticipates risks and enables projects. Our practice seeks to advise and support clients in critical decisions, integrating regulatory perspectives into their corporate challenges”, Blake commented regarding the synergies of his expertise with Bofill Mir’s development focus.

On the other hand, with the addition of Daniel Martorell as partner, the firm launches its Criminal Law, which has been integrated into its strategic pillars from the outset. Martorell’s career has been closely linked to complex matters in which he has worked alongside the Mining, Corporate, and Regulatory teams—collaboration that is now consolidated, bringing his expert vision to the service of our clients and their most sensitive challenges.

Martorell added: “Beyond the technical aspects, Criminal Law becomes a strategic resource to foster sustainable businesses. The launch of this practice reflects the growing need for preventive and crisis advisory services, integrated into the corporate, regulatory, and reputational realities of our clients.”

These moves stem from the constant monitoring and understanding of clients’ needs, strengthening key capabilities with an integrated, technical, and business-oriented perspective.

Octavio Bofill, partner and member of the Executive Committee, commented: “The addition of Daniel and Tomás responds to a clear conviction: to grow with a focus on the needs that reality imposes on our clients, whom we support in their businesses. Both partners share the firm’s strategic vision and strengthen areas that demand specialization, legal expertise, and a fine reading of the public and corporate environment.” He added that this stage also reaffirms something that has always been part of the firm’s history: a trajectory marked by the ability to build teams, strengthen practices, and project them with a long-term vision.
