After 7 years of processing, on 26 August 2024, the Chamber of Deputies approved the text of the new law on personal data and passed it into law. It is now up to the Constitutional Court to carry out a constitutionality check so that it can subsequently be published in the Official Gazette.

On the occasion of this new law, it will be necessary for any organisation that processes personal data to carry out a preventive control or data audit, in order to assess its level of compliance and also to start adjusting its activity to the new standards.
