Press | Gonzalo Barcelósenior associate specialising in Restructuring and Insolvency, was interviewed along with a group of experts to analyse the latest developments in the field: fewer company liquidations and more renegotiations due to personal insolvencies. The article highlights the favourable role played by the implementation of the ‘new insolvency law’, in force since 2014 but which incorporated significant changes in 2023, in terms of providing greater tools to face adverse financial scenarios.
Regarding the corporate dimension, Gonzalo emphasised the diversity of sectors that are currently involved. He added that in order to further strengthen the system, it is key to change the focus of the solvency situation of companies to a global perspective, rather than a sectoral one.
