Our partner, Manuel Bernet, participated in the XVI Jornadas Chilenas de Derecho Comercial de la Facultad de Derecho Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In this instance, he presented a paper entitled "The experience and competence of workers as a limit to the protection of trade secrets". In it, he examined the new law on economic crimes, which allows not to punish a worker for the use of his experience and skills acquired in knowledge of a trade secret owned by his former employer. Given that this is a recent regulation, the presentation provided precise guidelines for companies to adequately protect their trade secrets in the face of intense labor mobility.
